Soople - a better Google?

Chris Sherman of Search Engine Watch pointed out a new interface for Google, in a recent newletter.

Soople puts a lot of Google's less well know features into a fun interface. According to Sherman -
"The word "soople" comes from an early English dialect, meaning "to soften, make supple." That's a pretty good description of what Soople does for Google. In fact, Soople's author, Floris Rost van Tonningen, says that the idea was to make Google's full power easily accessible for his mother."

Escape from the winter blahs!!

This time of year people want to fly away from the cold. I recently learned of Johnny Jet, when he appeared on Call for Help. Jet has a travel newsletter that has links to hot travel deals, travel tips etc. You can also read about some of his trips. You can subscribe to the newsletter or just visit the site.

One of the sites he spoke about was Booking Buddy. This site lets you search across many of the big travel sites and only input your information once. It opens that travel site's results in a separate window, so you can go back to your search and try it on another to compare.

I also like some of the web pages run by the big travel guides:
Lonely Planet
Fodors
Fromers
Rick Steves travel newsletter
Publishers don't put their full guides on the web, but each has some special features.

For links to all the official state tourism sites TourStates.com

So plan a real trip or be an armchair traveller.
