Earth Science World

This site has some a geological timeline and other features, but I really like the photograph databank of geological features from volcanoes to waterfalls to space and more. Many are from the US Geological Service and would be great for school projects.

The Earthdata section is cool too. You can select from a very, very long list of weather stations. Then you can select from a range of dates you want in your chart. Available dates vary by city. Then you can pick a weather element like rain, temperature, etc. Then presto

Too Hot to Handle!!!

We are heading into the dog days of summer. The library gets questions about the dangers of overheating/ heatstroke/ etc.

The Centers for Disease Control have a handy dandy page onExtreme Heat. Give it a gander and see how to prevent some serious problems.

Every have a stain on a shirt? A mark on the wall? How do you fix it? You might check out How to Clean Anything. It doesn't cover every cleaning crisis, but did quite a few and the instructions were clear.

Learn to do something

I recently learned about Gimpsy. Gimpsy specializes as a directory on learning how to do things. No deep contemplation, but if you want to buy books, set up a web hosting service, that they can do! Give it a look.

Trying times

It can often be hard to find just what you need about Supreme Court decisions. The people at LLRX have been working with legal information on the internet since 1996. They have a great page , The Web Guide to the Supreme Court. You will also find some great tools off of their general home page. A recent entry on Spyware is particularly good.
