Breaking Science

Often in the library patrons will call about a story they have heard and want to know more about. You can often find follow ups to science stories at Science Daily http://www.sciencedaily.com/ This is updated more than daily. Not just from the news outlets. It also includes releases from universities and labs. A good source.

You can also find some similar material at Google's news, but not as many. Google Sci/Tech http://news.google.com/?ned=us&topic=t Google Health http://news.google.com/?ned=us&topic=m&ie=UTF-8

Poetry

On Sunday I spent time tracking down a poem for a patron. Frustrating because both of us knew the poem, but not enough to find the silly thing. Finally we found it - Rabbi Ben Ezra by Browning. Helps if you have the words right. :D To read the poem go to the University of Toronto's page http://eir.library.utoronto.ca/rpo/display/poem295.html

The Librarian's Index has developed a cool set of poetry tools for poetry seekers and writers. http://lii.org/search/file/poetry Check it out!
