Never to forget
That is how we speak about the Holocaust - never to forget. And yet when we look at the world, it seems possible.
This week was the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. The Russian commander spoke to the press. Survivors recalled their ordeal and torment. As uncomfortable as these memories are we need to revisit them. These are some sites to learn more:

Squashed Philosphers
Last night I heard about learning about great philosphers in very little time. Glyn Hughes has actually done a very good job of squashing famous philosphy tracts into a Reader's Digest condensed version. Certainly not going to take the place of reading the original, but hey if you need to brush up on The Prince by Machiavelli and only have a half hour. (Hughes puts the time required out at the main index.) Fun, give it a try at:

If you want to read them in total, try looking at Project Gutenberg, where you can read many classic texts in full online.

Inaugural events
This week is the inauguration of President Bush. Maybe you aren't interested in his inauguration. What about Zachery Taylor; Woodrow Wilson??? The Library of Congress thought you might be interested and created an only treasure trove of information and documents from the swearing in of George Washington on. Visit it at:

Parlez vous Francais?
I took French for years and still have a limited vocabulary. However it is my lucky day, I can brush up and even get a certificate for a three month course at the BBC. Besides French, you can learn more about Spanish, Italian, German and other languages.
